ISO Certification Process

At ASG, our ISO certification process is designed to ensure clarity, transparency, and compliance at every stage. The journey from application to certification and ongoing surveillance includes the following key phases:

1. Application Submission

Prospective clients can submit their certification requests via our online application form, by email, or by contacting us directly. If a physical copy of the application is required, clients may request it by writing to us at info@asgms.org.

2. Application Review

Once the application is received, it undergoes a detailed review to confirm scope, requirements, and feasibility. Upon approval, a formal work order and client agreement are issued, initiating the certification cycle.

3. Initial Certification Audit

This phase comprises two key stages:

Stage 1 Audit – Documentation & Readiness Review

We assess the client’s management system documentation and evaluate their preparedness for Stage 2. This stage provides an opportunity to identify major gaps and allows the client to take corrective actions beforehand. A comprehensive audit report is shared for internal use and planning.

Stage 2 Audit – Certification Assessment

Our audit team conducts an in-depth evaluation at the client’s premises. The focus is on compliance with applicable ISO standards and documented processes. Non-conformities, if found, are discussed during the closing meeting. Clients are then asked to submit a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) within 15 days, backed by objective evidence for each non-conformance.

A certification recommendation is made based on findings, subject to the closure of all major issues. All audit reports and evidence are thoroughly reviewed before the certification decision is made.

4. Surveillance Audits

To maintain certification, annual surveillance audits are conducted to verify continued compliance and effectiveness of the management system. These audits ensure that improvements are sustained and any system changes are effectively managed. The first surveillance must occur within 12 months of the Stage 2 audit.

5. Recertification Audit

ISO certifications are valid for three years. Before the certificate expires, a recertification audit is conducted to evaluate the entire system afresh. The aim is to verify ongoing conformity, address any system upgrades, and confirm the organization’s commitment to quality and improvement. This is followed by continued surveillance audits under the renewed cycle.

Key Certification Evaluation Criteria

The certification decision is based on a collective evaluation of:

  • Audit reports and findings
  • Effectiveness of corrective actions taken
  • Accuracy of application data
  • Compliance with ISO standards

Once all criteria are met, ASG will issue the ISO certificate, affirming the organization’s commitment to management system excellence.
